The months of September, October, November and December span what is known as “marching season” for the Mighty Spartan Marching Band and Pageantry Corps. Our performance calendar includes five home and five away football games, four parades, some community service gigs, and caroling projects during winter break.

For orchestra members, this is a time to work on technique and to develop the year’s repertoire. Our “Monday Night String Orchestra Mall Concert” in December at the Montebello Town Center is always a treat.

For parents and families, it is usually a time of chaos and bedlam trying to balance the where’s, what’s, and why’s of their kids’ lives. There will be many requests for transportation, money, and “leniency.” Depending on how many organizations your family gets involved with, there will be a deluge of fund raisers, group projects, social events, and performance engagements.

Hopefully, a copy of our organization’s activities calendar now adorns every family’s bulletin boards or refrigerators. If not, please feel free to request another copy.
